‘Works and Echoes’ presents a curated archive of Aalam Wassef’s multidisciplinary practice. A living collection shaped by the works preserved, the fragments still held by friends and collaborators, and the pieces yet to be recovered. It is both a record and an invitation: to explore, remember, and participate in the ongoing shaping of his legacy.

Biography

Aalam was an Egyptian multidisciplinary artist whose work spanned video, sound, photography, drawing, painting, and writing. Throughout his career, he explored forms of resistance against political oppression, technological surveillance, and censorship. Combining poetic gestures with a critical engagement with contemporary conflicts, his projects ranged from interactive installations and performances to street-based photography and audiovisual archives. This posthumous site preserves his works and archives, offering insight into a unique artistic vision shaped by courage, experimentation, and the pursuit of freedom of expression.
